This comprehensive Illinois caregiver training program is designed to equip caregivers with the essential knowledge and skills to provide safe, compassionate, and compliant care. The 10-hour caregiver core section covers foundational caregiving principles, communication techniques, infection control, and client rights. The 6-hour Alzheimer’s and dementia segment focuses on understanding memory loss, managing behavioral challenges, and delivering person-centered care for individuals living with cognitive decline. The final 2-hour sexual harassment prevention module fulfills Illinois state requirements, promoting a respectful, inclusive, and legally compliant workplace.

Upon completion, participants will demonstrate enhanced caregiving competencies, improved awareness of Alzheimer’s care strategies, and a strong understanding of professional ethics and workplace safety standards.

This course equips caregivers to provide culturally competent, gender-affirming care to LGBTQ+ seniors. Topics include respectful language, pronouns, privacy & disclosure, the senior LGBTQ+ experience, transgender-affirming care, personal care, household tasks, meals & nutrition, social/family dynamics, and emotional support. Estimated time: 60–75 minutes. Audience: in-home caregivers and coordinators. Completion: view all modules and pass the final quiz (≥80%)

This Backup Caregiver Training program prepares professional caregivers to provide urgent, high-quality care when regular arrangements fall through. Through six self-paced modules, caregivers will learn the purpose of backup care, professional expectations, safety protocols, and best practices for supporting families in emergency care situations.

The training includes six video lessons and a final quiz to reinforce learning and verify understanding.
